Love= PAIN ...REALLY?

Since when do you have to be in PAIN to experience LOVE? That's so counterproductive in my opinion.
Does someone have to cheat on you or mentally/physically and emotionally abuse you to show they love you?

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I don't see pain in there ANYWHERE.

I will not settle for a world of pain for a only little love.

Baggage full of shades...

I LOVE sunglasses. I needed some ... so I headed over to Bleu Dame  Their website is AMAZING. They have the cutest accessories, from Vintage sunglasses and clear glasses to jewelry and Eco-friendly bags (Envirosax).
Bleu Dame features a $5 sunglasses section that always has great stuff. They had two pairs of great glasses priced at $18.80 ...in the FIVE dollar section. So I notified the company and GUESS WHAT they honored the $5 price!! *Does Happy Dance*

Here they are:
 2465

 2470

2470 was supposed to be in Black but they were out of stock.
Bleu Dame is AWESOME, so head over to their site and get to shopping. There is something for everyone (even boys).
I purchased these items with my own money and I do not represent Bleu Dame in any way.

Perfect song for this post

Mercy for Animals DVD 12min Documentary

Last week my free copy of Farm to Fridge came in the mail...I popped it in my laptop, pressed play and relaxed as James Cromwell's voice filled my ears and factory farmed animals spread across the screen.
I thought to myself "I've seen this all before...I'm a VEGAN for Christ's sake." I sat, I watched, I cried. Before I knew it I could no longer see clearly the cows being beaten then slaughtered. I was DISTRAUGHT. I couldn't believe how emotional I got.
To be honest, it had been a long time since I watched a video like this. One can get so caught up in the everyday routine, and forget WHY the the choice of veganism was made. After it was done I thought "omg that's it I want to go vegan!!!" but I already am.

I'm reminded of why I made the choice to be Vegan for LIFE. I think I needed that reality check.

E.L.F Summer Ready Collection

Price: 4.99
Available at: Target stores and Eyeslipsface.com

From left to right:
1.Blue Mist
2.Lilac
3.Fuchsia
4.Mango Madness
5.Purple Pleaser

Warmer weather is here so I'm switching up the polish (I'm addicted to taupe and grey polishes). These aren't NEW colors, although I have never heard of Blue Mist, I thought it was their Mint Creme until I opened the package. My favorite are the Lilac (which I had for a while. I gave my mom the one that came with this pack) and the Fuchsia. I like the Blue Mist but it needed THREE coats -___-. The Purple Pleaser is a bit dark for my liking but I'll find a way to maneuver it into my nail polish collection. As for the Mango Madness I wish it were more opaque and creamy but it's a very pretty color. I'll be swatching soon!! :)

Lady 'Yankin'

I have no words for the atrocity that I am about to share with you. Okay, I'm lying. I have A LOT of words for it. I stumbled across it on twitter. I'm sharing this obviously not because I condone it, but because it must be understood that this piece of media is an embarrassment that steps on the progress of women's rights and racial equality ...yes I went THAT far. It's how I feel. I thought for a while about if I would even blog about it much less put the distasteful piece of crap on my blog....but I digress.

Below is a the music video for 'Yankin' by a rapper named Lady.

Where do I begin?
My initial reaction: I sat at my computer and stifled an outrageous, gut wrenching, mind numbing fit of laughter. I couldn't believe it was a legitimate attempt at music.

After I had slept on it, I thought to myself...Why did I laugh?

1. Yankin?.... Where on EARTH did that slang term come from? Granted, she is from Georgia, I am from NYC. I am fully aware of the differences in jargon and vernacular but this was incompetent at best.
2. The lyrical content is that of an illiterate, oversexed, Fifteen year old 3rd grader, from the deepest slums of the earth.
3. The failed attempt at class and wealth.
4. Her name is LADY. I don't know about you, but to me this video doesn't scream 'lady like'
5. She wasn't joking
.

What pains me is that she's actually a beautiful black woman and this has reduced her to body parts and illiteracy.
How is it possible that you can expect anyone ..much less a MAN to respect you, if you can't respect/ properly represent yourself or your fellow WOMAN. She has next to naked women dancing around in thongs to a song that is basically about drunken sex, and her vagina.

I feel as if she has taken all that Women and African American people have fought for...and wiped her ass with it.
-Simply Disappointed

I welcome and encourage comments :)
